Over 100 girls came together in Otta, Ogun State, from Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti States, for three unforgettable days of learning, growth, and empowerment.

Through a structured workstation system, the girls were guided by dedicated coaches in basketball, life skills, health education, and faith-based teachings, creating a safe space to learn, grow, and build confidence both on and off the court.

According to our Convener, Founder and CEO, Madam Deborah Fayemi, sports are one of the most powerful tools for shaping confident, disciplined, and empowered young women, especially at a time when many face pressure and limited opportunities.

And this is just the beginning… the 3rd edition promises to be even bigger and better 🔥

At the end of each day, Madam Deborah Fayemi leads a special camp exercise designed to refresh the girls, lift their spirits, and boost their morale.

This fun and interactive session gives her a chance to connect with the players, see what they’ve learned, and discuss how the skills they practice on the court can also benefit them in their daily lives. It’s a highlight of the camp where learning meets enjoyment, leaving the girls energized and inspired.

VICTORIA’S QUEENS BASKETBALL CAMP 2025 – FULL RECAP 🎥🔥

Looking back at this camp still gives me chills. From Day 1, it was more than basketball, it was an experience. We kicked things off with an opening prayer, committing everything to God before we even touched a ball. That alone set the tone for the whole camp.

The campers got their gifts, met their coaches, and immediately you could feel the excitement. Nobody came to joke. The drills, the footwork sessions, the shooting work… everybody was locked in. But it wasn’t just about the physical side. We mixed in worship sessions, prayer times, and moments where they actually sat down to listen to the word of God. Seeing young athletes lift their hands and worship together? That hit different.

The coaches poured into them too, real talks about leadership, discipline, teamwork, focus, even sex education… things they genuinely need both on and off the court. You could see the girls absorbing every word.

And then the games? The competitions? 😂🔥
Energy was on another level. They pushed each other, encouraged each other, fought for every point, and still showed love and respect at the end. Watching teams form, bond, argue, fix it, then work together again was honestly one of my favorite parts. Basketball will always expose character, and you could literally watch them grow each day.

The final day, the awards, the recognitions, the joy on their faces, made everything worth it. Every award had a story behind it.

This highlight video doesn’t even capture everything, but it gives you a glimpse of what God did and what these girls put in. I’m proud of every single one of them.

Warm-ups prepare the body, sharpen the mind, and set the tone for the entire session. Through controlled movement, ball-handling, light footwork, and skill-focused exercises, they help players increase mobility, improve coordination, and reduce the risk of injury. More than just stretching or jogging, warm-up drills build rhythm, boost confidence, and get athletes mentally locked in before stepping into intense practice or game action.

Still on Day 1 camp activities, the girls were separated into different groups with coaches assigned to each group and different topics ranging from team bonding to leadership, sex education, mini games, and more.
These sessions are designed to teach the girls morals and valuable lessons both on and off the court.

They help the girls grow into better individuals, not just better athletes. These workshops are one of the essential parts of the Victoria’s Queens Basketball Camp.

It’s not about playing alone. It’s also about building character, strengthening relationships, developing confidence, and equipping the girls with life skills that will stay with them long after the final whistle

We kicked off Day 1 with a visit to Community High School, Igbala Sango Ota, where we hosted a 30-minute empowerment session for the girls.

We talked about basketball, not just the game, but also confidence, discipline, and opportunities it opens up.

We also donated fans to help make their classrooms more airy and comfortable.
Their energy was incredible, and watching their eyes light up reminded us exactly why we’re here.
If even one girl picks up the ball after today, we’ve already made an impact.
